41dc6de306 Fix transport to reject planes loaded on land units
The transported plane remains on its carrier. When the land unit
moves, the plane is teleported right back to it. Broken since
Chainsaw 3 added land units.

While there, improve the message for planes on ships.

28d4847416 Clean up move_ground()'s parsing of DIR_MAP
Split with parse() and pass first two arguments instead of the raw
tail to the map() callback. Advantages:

* Consistent with do_unit_move().

* Does the right thing when the tail is just spaces. Before, the
  spaces got passed to the map() callback, which complained about
  syntax. Now, they are ignored. This is what the commit I just
  reverted tried to fix.

* Works better when the tail splits into more than two arguments.
  Except for explore_map(), which ignores the argument(s), the map()
  callbacks use display_region_map(), which split the tail at the
  first space, and complained about any spaces in the second part.
  Now, display_region_map() takes two argument strings instead of a
  single, unsplit argument string, and extra arguments get silently
  ignored, as usual.

7e2008e7f4 License upgrade to GPL version 3 or later
Why upgrade? I'm not a lawyer, but here's my take on the differences
to version 2:

* Software patents: better protection against abuse of patents to
  prevent users from exercising the rights under the GPL. I doubt
  we'll get hit with a patent suit, but it's a good move just on
  general principles.

* License compatibility: compatible with more free licenses, i.e. can
  "steal" more free software for use in Empire. I don't expect to steal
  much, but it's nice to have the option.

* Definition of "source code": modernization of some details for today's
  networked world, to make it easier to distribute the software. Not
  really relevant to us now, as we normally distribute full source code.

* Tivoization: this is about putting GPL-licensed software in hardware,
  then make the hardware refuse to run modified software. "Neat" trick
  to effectively deny its users their rights under the GPL. Abuse was
  "pioneered" by TiVo (popular digital video recorders). GPLv3 forbids
  it. Unlikely to become a problem for us.

* Internationalization: more careful wording, to harden the license
  outside the US. The lawyers tell us it better be done that way.

* License violations: friendlier way to deal with license violations.
  This has come out of past experience enforcing the GPL.

* Additional permissions: Probably not relevant to us.

Also include myself in the list of principal authors.

da48ba6d13 Fix sloppy sanity check for mobility going negative in transport
Assignment to sct_mobil was vulnerable to integer underflow. Should
not happen, as move_ground() never returns a cost exceeding available
mobility.

3cc8de8aef Fix extra prompt after abort due to misuse of snxtitem()
The old code used getstarg() to get an argument with a different
prompt than snxtitem() uses, then passed the value to snxtitem()
unchecked. If the player aborts, getstarg() returns a null pointer,
and snxtitem() prompts again.  Affected:

* load/lload plane/land third argument; load_plane_ship(),
  load_land_ship(), load_plane_land(), load_land_land()

* bomb, drop, fly, paradrop, recon and sweep second argument;
  get_planes()

* tend and ltend second and fourth argument; ltend(), tend(),
  tend_land()

* mission second argument; mission()

Fix by making snxtitem() taking a prompt argument, null pointer
requests the old prompt.

Use that to simplify multifire() and torp(). Change the other callers
to pass NULL.

8006543878 Distinguish between planes "in orbit" and "launched"
Use new pln_is_in_orbit() when we want to test for orbit specifically,
and test PLN_LAUNCHED when we want to test whether the plane not
sitting in the sector (because it is flying). This distinction is
pointless at this time, because the only way PLN_LAUNCHED gets set is
when a satellite goes into orbit. It will become useful in a later
commit, which will use PLN_LAUNCHED to mark flying planes.

51275c753f (do_map): New. map() was split into two parts map() and do_map().
(map): Call new function do_map().
(display_region_map): Modify to use do_map() instead of map().
(tran_nmap, tran_pmap, cmd_move_map): Modify to accomodate
the modified display_region_map() function.

help avoid inclusion cycles. Sort include directives. Remove some
superflous includes.

802f69b039 (nukstr): Make it a struct genitem: add members nuk_effic, nuk_mobil,
nuk_tech, nuk_stockpile, nuk_opx, nuk_opy, nuk_mission, nuk_radius.
These have no effect, yet.
(build_nuke): Initialize them.
(nuke_ca): Add genitem selectors: effic, mobil, tech, group, opx, opy,
mission, radius.
(tran_nuke): Zap mission, just in case somebody invents missions for
nukes.
(trade_desc): Show tech and efficiency, for consistency with other
units.

2e40a4bb90 Change nuke storage and commands to match other units:
(nukstr): Hold one nuke instead of a stockpile: replace members nuk_n,
nuk_types by nuk_type, nuk_plane.  Add nuk_land for completeness, like
nuk_ship it's not yet used.
(nuke_ca): Update accordingly: replace selectors number and types by
type and plane.
(build_nuke): Update accordingly.
(ndump, nuke): Update accordingly. Output is no longer sorted by
location, and nukes in same location no longer share id. nuke's extra
columns for nuclear plants are repeated for every nuke.
(trade_desc): Update accordingly.
(cede, grab_sect, check_nuke_ok, detonate, trade_nameof): Talk about
nukes instead of nuclear stockpiles.
(arm, disarm): Rewrite, split off new disarm(). Don't remove nuke
from the nuke file on arm. Allow usual plane syntax, not just plane
number. Change second argument from nuke type to nuke number. When
plane is already armed, ignore nuke argument and rearm (broken in
4.2.6).
(tran_nuke): Update for changed struct nukstr, make as similar as
possible to tran_plane. Change syntax to match transport plane.
(player_coms): Update arm, disarm and transport accordingly.
(prnuke, nuk_on_plane): New.
(nuk_add, nuk_delete): Stockpile management, remove.

18bbcb2c9e (tran_map): Set player->argp[0]. Required since bmap() was merged
into map() ca. 1995. Clear player->argp[2]. Required since map
acquired its second argument in the early 90s. Fixes 'm' at
transport's move_ground() prompt.

eccc5cb7d7 Sectors need space for items, deliveries and distribution thresholds.
To save space, the ancients invented `variables': a collection of
key-value pairs, missing means zero value, space for `enough' keys.
This complicates the code, as assigning to a `variable' can fail for
lack of space. Over time, `enough' increased, and for quite some time
now `variables' have been *wasting* space. This changeset replaces
them, except in struct mchrstr, struct lchrstr and struct pchrstr,
where they are read-only, and will be replaced later. It is only a
first step; further cleanup is required. To simplify and minimize
this necessarily huge changeset, the new item[] arrays have an unused
slot 0, and the old variable types V_CIVIL, ... are still defined, but
must have the same values as the item types I_CIVIL, ...
